Emission Management

We regularly measure and report our greenhouse gas emissions in line with national regulations and internationally recognized standards. This structured approach enables us to meet our legal responsibilities while continuously reducing our environmental footprint.

Using 2021 as our baseline year, we have established clear short- and long-term emission reduction targets. We are actively reducing direct emissions through process optimization and electric arc furnace (EAF) transformation projects, while working toward full Scope 2 carbon neutrality by 2030.

Across our value chain, we are also collaborating with suppliers to lower embedded emissions, supporting our alignment with the 1.5°C climate pathway. 

Energy Efficiency and Our Renewable Energy Transformation  

We carry out comprehensive initiatives to reduce energy-related emissions and increase the use of sustainable energy. With our 25 MWp capacity solar power plant commissioned in Sivas, we have initiated renewable energy generation. We aim to commission our solar power plant projects in Kars, Konya, and Ağrı in the last quarter of 2025.  

At our DNA facility, we are accelerating the transition to green energy through a rooftop solar power plant with an installed capacity of AC 1800 kWe and DC 2209 kWp, and as of 2024, we are switching all our electricity consumption to a green energy tariff. We manage our energy management processes in accordance with the ISO 50001 standard and prioritize energy efficiency across all our operations. In addition, we reduce our carbon footprint by replacing fossil fuel-powered equipment with environmentally friendly electric alternatives.  

Through our renewable energy investments and energy efficiency initiatives, we continue to advance steadily toward a more sustainable and low-carbon future.  

Waste Management and Circular Economy  

Diler Iron & Steel uses resources efficiently through its sustainable production approach and actively contributes to the circular economy by minimizing waste generation. We meticulously implement waste management practices across all our facilities in accordance with the Zero Waste Regulation, segregating waste and directing it to recycling and recovery processes.  

We regularly monitor and record process waste, packaging waste, and valuable by-products. Through initiatives such as our partnership with Marzinc for zinc recovery from electric arc furnace dust and the processing of slag for use in infrastructure and construction applications, we reduce environmental impact while creating added value from secondary materials.

Water Management  

Water, which is extensively used in iron and steel production, is of critical importance, particularly in cooling, cleaning, steam generation, and transportation processes. Diler Iron & Steel implements effective water management practices across all its facilities to ensure the efficient and sustainable use of water.  

Through the projects we develop, we reduce water consumption and minimize environmental impacts through recovery and reuse methods, while also enhancing operational efficiency. This approach contributes to the conservation of natural resources and strengthens our sustainable production objectives.
